What's on your mind?
Can Royal Guards die? Do they have HP bars?
While the Japanese version of Elder Tale uses the typical Pay-2-Play scheme (Buy Base Game & Expansion, Pay Subscription Fee), what about the rest of the world (Aside from the confirmed Free-2-Play scheme for Korea)? For example: What model would Elder Tale use for Third World Countries in Asia like Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia? Are they Free-2-Play or do they use the same scheme but adjusted to each countries' economy or do they use a completely different scheme?
Hello! I've been planning this for a while ever since I've first watched the Log Horizon anime, I want to write a Log Horizon story featuring OCs and their take on some events since the Catastrophe. The storyline will correspond to that of the anime and I'm currently thinking of ways to link it into the story of Log Horizon without really reading the Light Novel. So, if you have any ideas on this, please tell me!
Now, to the main point, I wasn't exactly sure where to post this search for characters, but I figured I'd do it here! Anyways, I currently have 4-5 main characters planned out; however, I wish to add some other characters and flesh out their adventure! If you would like to join and see your character in Elder Tale please comment with this information:
Level (Range or Start)
Appearance/Equipment (can also attach a sketch or image or link to an image)
I will be posting this story on AO3 and FFN, but first I wish to gather a handful of characters and plan out the story! I hope to hear from someone soon!
If all of the Royal Guard act robotic to a fault, then how come this guy that was a Royal Guard ended up going on a murder rampage because he was racist against Adventurers? I know he got possessed by the sword Byakumaru, but his article said he only took the sword in the first place because he already wanted to kill the adventurers. It just seems inconsistent that a Royal Guard would have feelings.
In case any fans didn't find out, アニメ「ログ・ホライズン」, @@nhk_loghorizon, NHK Educational TV's Twitter account for the Log Horizon anime announced "３月末の再放送の終了にともない、こちらの番組Twitterは近日中にいったん停止となります。第１シリーズ開始よりおよそ２年半、応援の声を寄せていただき、ありがとうございました！このアカウントも「立ち上がれ、もう一度」となることを祈りつつ・・・" translation is:
With the end of the rebroadcast at the end of March, this program Twitter will be suspended soon. About two and a half years since the start of the first series, thank you for your voice of support! While praying that this account will be "getting up and making it again" ....
I feel it unfair that of the twelve classes two were shamed and ignored by not being given a single optional class variant on any server.
These classes are Guardian and Summoner.
I feel we should come come together and create a variant for each then submit them to Mamare.
How do others feel about this?
Which Race, Class and Subclass will you choose? What kind of player will you be? Solo or team. Will you be a Guild Leader? Yes or not, what kind of Guild will you end up in if you got stuck in the Apocalypse situation?
Summoner Summon's have a penalty of being only 1/3 as powerful as the normal unsummoned version.
Does this translate as a summon being only 33% as powerful?
Has there ever been a more accurately stated number?
IIRC the names used in the Traditional Chinese version came from Haniwa, the official translator, so I think we should also give credit where due.
In Shiroe's case, prior to the release of the KadoTaiwan versions, most if not all Chinese translators chose to use 白恵 due to the Shiroe/Kuroe joke (and probably also because "white" is what most people will think of the word "shiro"). Readers who had not read the web novels were thus quite surprised by Haniwa's choice until Shiroe's real name was revealed in the LN.
For those who couldn't figure this out, we haven't met all twelve members of Log Horizon yet. Mamare Touno mentioned this in a Q&A.
So we know that the Travelers didn't cause the Catastrophe (which they call the Eclipse). But they did purposely tangle themselves up in it because it was a "unique situation" that no other world had.
The Travelers want Empathiom. Empathiom comes from memories. Normally, people who die when they are killed, so they won't revive. This is true for us, for the Landers in Theldesia, and presumably whatever race created the Travelers (which is also apparently a race that cannot produce empathiom very quickly since they've run out of it).
However, after the Catastrophe, Adventurers have bodies that will always revive (barring certain circumstances), and they retain their memories, unlike monsters. That makes them an excellent source of empathiom, especially since they have memories of another world that they are forced to sacrifice in order to revive.
(Although Akatsuki stated that they willingly give them up in the final episode, it's suggested in volumes 6/7 that it's an involuntary process, and the Odyssey Knights in 8 wouldn't have to keep dying if they weren't forced to revive.)
In short, the Genius want to create a world of death so that they can keep killing Adventurers, forcing them to sacrifice their memories (give them Empathiom) in order to revive. And we don't know whether Adventurers are able to lose their memories of the Theldesian world because nobody has lost enough memories for that.
This isn't exactly any new information and most people have probably figured this out, but it didn't all click into my head until I was writing for my fan fic...
Well, I'm not sure if calling them "stats" is accurate, but these are different parameters that have been mentioned throughout the novels. This info was gathered by a friend of mine for helping me write a fan fic, but I'm not sure where to put this on the Wiki.
Copy-pasted from http://pastebin.com/E6bTKha8. Probably slightly outdated since it doesn't take into consideration parts of volume 7 or anything from 8-10.

does the light novel has translate (english) version??? [sry for my bad english >w<]
I was working on a fanfic and came up with the following dilemma:
If a guild was based in a certain city and had a guild hall in the Guild Meeting Hall building there, but ended up trapped in another (far away) city due to doing a quest at the time of the Catastrophe, is there a way to move their Guild Hall from one city to another or delete one from a distance (from another Guild Meeting Hall building) and create a new one?
It's just a small guild of 6 people (5 of which were online at the time) and the Guild Master is there.
I don't think there's any specific answers to this from the show or the books (though I could be wrong) but best guess answers would help. Thanks.
Place suggestions for improving the Wiki here. The more specific you are about your recommendation/request, the more likely I (or some willing volunteer) can get it done. I might spend a lot of time on LH stuff, but I'm still just one person.
(Also, if you have something to add/change in a page, go for it. There's a reason why anyone can edit these articles
as long as I haven't protected the page for whatever reason. If there's a problem, it'll be apparent. Either because I bring it up or because your edits vanish. Depends on the situation.)
DQ's current to-do list:
- Update the List of Characters. Good golly does that page need work.
Honestly it's in this state because I can't be bothered to crop pictures specifically for that page
- Add the skills infobox thing to all the Class/Race pages. Consistency and everything good like that.
- Create the Image Gallery pages for all the major cast. If applicable, the mobile game/SNG pages as well.
- Expand on the light novel summaries.
- Create the Variation pages for the classes (aside from Guardian and Summoner since they have no variations) and fill them with info. Some won't be done until volume 11 gets published since that's where the second part of the Overseas Classes stuff will go.
- Adding and updating monster pages
- Possibly adding individual pages for the Genius that have been introduced?
- Work on SNG info. Some special event ones will inevitably be incomplete.
- Get all the infoboxes consistent with theme and everything.
- Translate the information from the Log Horizon Database, Into the Theldesia, and the Celdesia Gazette.
Figure out the classes for those three kids in the Crescent Moon Alliance who currently have, well, nothing.Added one, the other two have no given class at all.
I like the pages with comments cause it lets people discuss that page. I haven't quite figured out how talk works.
