Gunner[1] (also fan-translated as Artillery Officer or Bombardier) is a Role-Playing subclass in Elder Tale.[2]
Overview[]
Gunners are specialists in long-distance shooting machines, such as cannons and ballistas. Adventurers with this subclass get a hit bonus on all long-range attacks but most of all gain access to the artillery often found in forts, ships and sometimes in dungeons or on large open battlefields. While the situations when those contraptions are at hand are not plenty, being able to effectively use them can turn the tides of a battle to your advantage.
The subclass is a relatively recent one in Elder Tale’s history, so its subclass-changing quest requires the player to be at least level 50, which is high for the average of such quests.
Among the People of the Earth, they tend to be the most specialized of the military subclasses, and they are even rarer than the top-ranking commanders such as Generals and Admirals. This is because not only are those weapons difficult to handle, but also because there are very few of them, used in limited situations like fortress sieges or defensive battles.
