Border Patrol, also called Frontier Guard, is one of the many subclasses in Elder Tale.[1]

Overview[]

Border Patrol provides strong defense and offense in combat and takes heavy damage from foes, always holding ground as long as possible until victory or defeat. It also gives detecting skills similar to the Tracker like an extension of the mini-map and increases the drop rate from animals and subhumans monsters.

It is one of the rare subclasses that can give People of the Earth some combat abilities (though not as much as an Adventurer of course) as well as skills to help them detect and track targets (animals, monsters and sometimes humans). Their goal is to patrol frontiers and solve problems in sparsely populated villages and settlements around the continent. Their activities do not only revolve around maintaining public order, defending cities and exterminating monsters, but also include teaching agriculture and holding trials and arbitrations.

It is a subclass based on merit, so few People of the Earth can pretend to take on such a position. Border Patrols are considered, in terms of social status, the equal of Knights, however both parties do not get along, seeing each other as “savage warriors without manners” or “pretentious people who lack the guts to fight monsters”.

There are no restrictions or pre-requisite to get the subclass, so clearing the subclass-changing quest is enough.

Border Patrol Skills[]

  • <Harvest> : Collect many items from defeated monsters.
  • <Sentry Watch> : Covers all party members for 15 seconds.
