Log Horizon (ログ・ホライズン, Rogu・Horaizun?) is a Japanese novel series by Mamare Touno. It was originally posted on a site called Shōsetsuka ni Narō starting in 2010, and was later officially published by Enterbrain in 2011. There have been four manga adaptations and an anime adaptation began airing on October 5, 2013. A second season for the anime was announced at the end of the last episode, which began October 4, 2014.
The light novels are published by Enterbrain! in Japan and Kadokawa Taiwan in Taiwan. Yen On publishes the English light novels, and Yen Press publishes the single Log Horizon manga volume and the Log Horizon: West Wind Brigade manga spin-off.
Plot
The story takes place in a universe where 30,000 Japanese players and several hundreds of thousand players worldwide are trapped in a fantasy online game world called Elder Tale. For these players, what was once a "sword-and-sorcery world" is now the "real world"! The main character is a male named Shiroe who teams up with his old friend Naotsugu and an assassin named Akatsuki as they try to survive in this new world.
