Masuda (増田) is an Elf Bard-Commander who joined the Crescent Moon Alliance after being saved from Hamelin.

Appearance

He has pointed elf ears, a mop of grayish-brown hair, rectangle glasses and a long trailing scarf around his shoulders.

In season 3, his outfit consists of a pair of white gloves, an elaborate light green and yellow coat, brown shorts and knee-high boots. His glasses also change frames.

Personality

Masuda can be quite timid and sensitive and, due to his past experience with Hamelin, he dislikes being alone. He is often homesick, but being surrounded by his guildmates, many of them cheerful and positive, slowly helps him gaining strength.

While Masuda hates being treated like a child, he also misses his mother dearly. He admires and feels close to Henrietta, fellow Bard and glasses-wearer, but it is also because she resembles his kind mother back on Earth, though Henrietta asked him to refrain from saying so publicly.

Synopsis

Summer Training arc

Masuda, along with the other newbies from Hamelin, participates in the Round Table's Summer Training Camp. After the Sahuagins start attacking en masse, he assists in the defense of Choushi.

Nightingale's Song arc

He participates in the Akiba Guild Hall Raid as a member of Team B alongside Mezamashi Tomete, Serara, Kuu, Yupia and Mil(17)ky.

Equipment

Masuda uses a one-handed spear composed of an orange gold-engraved orb and a feather-decorated tip.

He fights with weapon attacks while using self-enhancing support songs. The way he manipulates his spear while playing music is reminiscent of a drum and fife band conductor.
